Naija Health Day in Berlin – A Remarkable Success
The Naija Health Day, held on Friday, October 10, 2025, at the Nigerian Embassy in Berlin, was a resounding success.
The event marked a new milestone in collaboration between the Nigerian Embassy in Germany and Africans in Deutschland e.V. (AID). It brought together Nigerians from across Germany for a day of free health screenings, community support, and open dialogue with embassy officials.
In a warm and interactive atmosphere, embassy representatives created room for questions and answers, giving Nigerians the opportunity to seek clarification on important topics such as immigration, visa processing, passport issues etc. Those who visited the embassy for administrative matters also joined the health outreach, receiving medical checkups and health advice from our volunteer professionals.
According to Dr. Choima Aisha Okorie-Haidara, Minister and Head of Chancery at the Nigerian Embassy in Germany,
“This is the first time we are doing something like this, and we hope to make it a regular program — even more than once a year.”
The event saw the full participation of embassy staff and members of Africans in Deutschland e.V., with over 100 people attending throughout the day. More than 62 AID members took part, offering their time and expertise to make the outreach a success.
The Nigerian Embassy graciously provided breakfast and lunch for all participants and presented Certificates of Participation to the dedicated health workers and volunteers who made the day possible:
-
- Mrs. Osamakue Iroha-Izevbokun — Nurse, Founder & President, Africans in Deutschland e.V.
-
- Dr Mrs Omobolanle Joy Mefful — Doctor
-
- Folashade Olubukola Koleosho — Nurse
-
- Ms. Makera Mike — Nurse
-
- Ms. Ejiro Sonia Lang — Nurse
-
- Mr. Daramola Opeyemi Temidayo — Photographer (Community Service Volunteer).
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the Nigerian Embassy Berlin for their generosity, partnership, and commitment to the wellbeing of Nigerians in Germany.
Through this collaboration, Africans in Deutschland e.V. continues its mission to empower and support the Nigerian community — promoting health awareness, fostering unity, and building bridges between our people and the institutions that serve them.
We look forward to many more editions of Naija Health Day, reaching even more Nigerians across Germany in the years ahead.
